I STILL THINK ABOUT THIS OKAY 

I know it's not canon and it contradicts a lot of the original plot in the games, but I have a serious soft spot for the manga. Honestly, I feel like if the lines were blurred a bit between them to incorporate a few elements from the manga into the game (like the scenes between Balmung and Lios and a few with PC Cubia), the game could really be expanded on. Then again, that'd bring up the question on how '.hack' the games would be anymore-- the games prided themselves on not really knowing what was going on, and the manga had a habit of explaining things. 

It's probably because I like PC Cubia a lot.
